How To Clean Wheels: The Cleaning Process In Steps

Oblivion or Lemon Ice

Spray your wheel cleaner on the wheels (when cold, never right after driving). Lemon Ice is ready to use a cleaner that is a little more gentle and Oblivion is a concentrated alkaline cleaner that will clean a lot more stubborn and dirty wheels. After allowing to dwell for a few minutes you then agitate all over with your choice of brushes and mitts, rinse clean and repeat if necessary.

What wash media should I use?

Personally, I like to start with a detailing brush for the faces, then a larger wheel brush for the barrels and finally finish up with our MonsterShine Wheel Mate wheel mitt. The detailing brush has soft bristles that won’t scratch or damage any finishes and the larger blue brush has a long reach handle with lots of safety precautions added in manufacturing to prevent scratching also. The wheel mate has multiple surfaces and tends to get into parts the brushes miss leaving a more comprehensively clean finish. 

Redemption Fallout Remover On Iron Contamination

After cleaning, Fallout remover makes removing brake dust and iron contaminants fast and fun. This product provides a rewarding experience when decontaminating your wheels. Redemption fallout remover allows these sintered iron particles that are baked on the wheel,  safe and easy to rinse off. Repeat if necessary and a little agitation with a detailing brush doesn’t hurt either.  

Tyre Dressing

Always be sure to clean your tyres with wheel cleaner or citrus wash and a stiff brush to ensure dressings look their best and last as long as possible. We have another blog on this if you’d like to read more.
